Fowl pox disease is caused by DNA VIRUS of the genus avipoxvirus ,is transmitted primarily to flocks through biting mosquitoes, this occurs especially when their is over breeding of mosquito in a certain season, a mosquito that has fed on an infected bird is able to keep the virus in her salivary glands for up to 8 weeks.

SYMPTOMS:

  • Weight loss
  • Loss of appetite
  • Scabs or lesions on the comb
  • Eyelid swelling
  • Yellow canker lesion on the mouth
  • Reduced water conception
